A new concept and proposal for tatami: "Hikari Tatami." Hikari Tatami incorporates a light source within each tatami mat and can be installed in the necessary number of independent half-mats, making it easy to install. Using LED as the light source ensures energy efficiency, long lifespan, and a safe design with no concerns about heat generation. Additionally, various lighting effects can be achieved depending on the placement of the light source within the tatami. The surface material of the tatami is woven from natural rush grass and translucent materials, allowing light to pass through from within the tatami while also improving wear resistance compared to traditional tatami.
